Why 22 K gold?

Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about 22K gold and everything you need to know about our jewelry.

22K gold - almost like sunlight. Why doesn't anyone actually do this?

22K is rarely seen because it is somewhat softer and is not suitable for thin, hollow shapes like the common 18K (only 75% gold).

But who needs hollow shapes?
Simple, solid shapes, a warm glow from the depths. Pure and reduced.

We cast jewelry for every day: heavy, warm, soft and pure - in the simplest forms.

Isn't 22 carat gold too soft for jewelry?

No, many wedding rings in Switzerland used to be forged from 22K. And in Eastern cultures, 22K gold is used almost exclusively for all types of jewelry.

There are 2 reasons why our jewelry production is calibrated to 18 carat:

  1. Due to its hardness, 18K gold is easy to bend into hollow shapes, and if you want to set pavé diamonds, you should also use the hardest possible material.
But if not absolutely necessary, why rob the pure and warm gold of its soul?
  2. In the jewelry industry, people want to save gold because it is expensive and they cannot demand a large margin. Everyone knows the price of gold.

Isn't 22 carat gold very expensive?

22 carat gold is about 20% more expensive than the usual 18 carat gold. So no, in the end it doesn't make that much difference, it's just much nicer.

Are there scratches and dents in 22K gold jewelry over time?

Even polished steel scratches - and that usually doesn't look so nice. But the softer the metal, the more beautiful the traces of everyday life become.
There is nothing more beautiful than a registered gold ring with the traces of life on it.
Only life can write such a patina and over the years - no longer polished, no longer matted - the ring begins to glow from within.
